Imagination means everything thus LuninuX OS was an idea and is still an idea. After trying the same old Gnome look over and over and over…I was really tired of the overall appearance and feel of the desktop, so one day in a “magical land”, I tried something new with Gnome and I loved it. Many days passed, I needed to learn new ideas and I need to share it…but, it was not ready, many more days passed, weeks and more weeks, then I found there was a problem and surly I could resoulve it but then a friend, Emerson Levi donated an add-on domain for the project to host the site along with the files, and so, LuninuX OS was real. Now it is time for you to experience the great things LuninuX OS will offer you. LuninuX OS builds with many purpose in mind, fun, clean, stable, ready, responsive, reliable. From out of the box; LuninuX OS lets you watch flash videos from the web, play many of today’s codec, take snapshots, screencast, movie editing, music rendering, audio and videos converting, burn CD’s and DVD’s, document processioning, games, movie center, etc. LuninuX OS comes with all the codecs and media players needed for a good multimedia experience. It is capable of playing the following formats and more: avi (xvid/divx), mpg, mp4(h264), mp3, ogg, ogm, mov (quicktime), flac, aac, wav, ape, flv (flash movies), swf, cd audio, cd video, dvd video, ipod videos. For dealing with wma, wmv, rm and rmvb you can install extra codecs available. The thing that make LuninuX OS simply wonderful is that it is absolutely free just like freedom, it comes with the selection of the best applications designed to meet your daily needs. You can run LuninuX OS directly from a DVD/USB Stick and optionally install to a Harddrive, including IDE, SCSI, SATA, PATA and USB drives. LuninuX OS, Powered By Freedom, was know as Sn0wL1nuX at the early stage of the project but due to a conflict with another project which recently came out with a similar name “Snowlinux”, the name was changed to make it more unique. The name was created by inserting Un in Linux and adding what letters the was left from Sn0wL1nuX to it. I have come to define the project as “Powered By Freedom” because of the verious tools the have been provided freely to make it possible.
